July 1, 2008 - Michael J. Pelechaty, Jr., MD, Medical Director of the Exigence Hospitalist Program for Olean General Hospital, received the Golden Stethoscope Award. The award was presented by Timothy Finan, President and CEO, Olean General Hospital.

Hospitalists typically spend most or all of their work day in the hospital, and can be more readily available to a patient than a primary care physician or other specialists who spend much the day outside the hospital in an office or clinic setting.
“Dr. Pelechaty exemplifies the kind of providers for which Exigence is known—highly qualified, compassionate and effective,” said Dr. Gregory Daniel, Chief Executive Officer, Exigence.  “Since implementing the Hospitalist Program at Olean General in 2007, Dr. Pelechaty has played a key role in helping the hospital achieve its inpatient goals.” Previously, Dr. Pelechaty was Medical Director and a physician in Olean General Hospital’s Emergency Department, also managed by Exigence.
